Eulara has developed its own line of natural skin care products based on essential oil ingredients from medicinal plants that are cultivated organically or wild crafted, and then extracted and purified without the use of chemical solvents. Current trends in the skin care and personal care markets, including in the rapidly growing spa market, demand natural, organic ingredients and products that do not contain harsh or toxic chemicals. Eulara obtains its essential oil ingredients from many areas of the world, and the resulting products are formulated based on traditional uses of the oils, although modern chemistry methods are used to assure quality and purity.

Fungi

Product Note: The Eulara Product Fungi is a natural solution to the contamination of skin by moulds or fungi. Fungi contains natural essential oils from medicinal plants that contain powerful anti-microbial agents that serve as natural antiseptics on the surface of healthy skin.

Antiseptic: An antiseptic is an agent that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms on external surfaces of the body. The targeted microbes include fungi that cause jock itch, fingernail or toenail fungus. Antiseptics are distinguished from antibiotics which destroy microorganisms topically or systemically, and from disinfectants which destroy microorganisms found on nonliving objects. The purposes of an antiseptic are to cleanse a surface of microorganisms, to have minimal effect on the tissues and the healing processes, and to achieve local asepsis (the absence of pathogenic organisms).

Natural Antiseptics: The skin is the most important barrier to infection. Therefore, controlling pathogenic microbes at the skin barrier can be an important step in controlling infection. In 1910, a scientist named W. H. Martindale showed that oregano essential oil was the most powerful plant-derived natural antiseptic known at that time. He showed it was 26 times more active as an natural antiseptic than phenol, a powerful disinfectant from many plant essential oils. In 1977, Dr. Belaiche unveiled his Oregano Index that uses oregano oil as the base reference to compare the bactericidal action of all other substances. He chose oregano essential oil because, of all natural plant essential oils, it was closest to an ideal antibacterial agent. Historically, as used in many forms of natural and traditional medicine, and through modern times, many plant essential oils have been shown to have antiseptic and antibiotic effects against bacteria, fungi and viruses. Today, many approved pharmaceutical products which are used for the treatment of infections are either plant derived or have their origin in natural compounds produced by plants in nature.

Ingredients: A propriety blend of purified essential oils of Oregano (Origanum vulgare), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris),Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), Alpha-Lupaline (Oil of Lupinus albus in oil of Triticum vulgare) and Astaxanthin (Haematococcus pluvialis), in purified oils of Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) and Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis).
